INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Texas Sen. Ted Cruz ended his presidential campaign Tuesday, eliminating the biggest impediment to Donald Trump's march to the Republican nomination.

The conservative tea party firebrand who tried to cast himself as the only viable alternative to Trump ended his campaign after a stinging defeat in Indiana's Republican primary.

Mitochondrial dysfunction linked to chemotherapeutic resistance in African-American men with prostate cancer

Improper functioning of the mitochondria, a cell's source of energy, may help account for the fact that African-American men with prostate cancer respond poorly to the same conventional therapies provided to Caucasian-American men, according to research led by Dhyan Chandra, PhD, Associate Professor of Oncology in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI). The study was published online ahead of print in the British Journal of Cancer.

"In an earlier study, we provided the first evidence that African-American men possess reduced levels of mitochondrial genetic material in healthy prostate tissues,... MORE

REVIEW: Larry Wilmore's Set on the White House Correspondent's Dinner

Comedian, and Late-night host, Larry Wilmore, had a very tough act to follow, having played immediately after the President, at the top of the White House Correspondent's dinner.

The room was icy to his pitch. His took a daring number of risky punchlines, most of which, in the room, were, painfully, DOA.  Wilmore appeared to be utterly shocked that he was landing only roughly one in 8 deliveries. And then he beat the "Zodiac Killer" horse to a pulp.  What did I just watch?  MORE

REVIEW: “United Shades of America”, Hosted by W. Kamau Bell (CNN)
by Marcinho Savant, Entertainment Writer

I witnessed, while sitting at my desk Sunday night, a KKK cross “̶l̶i̶g̶h̶t̶i̶n̶g̶”  burning on prime-time television, in 2016.

Whoodathunk it? All I could see in my mind’s eye were the ancestors who were terrorized by the sight, lynched, discarded.

My family has a role in the civil rights movement which makes such images highly personal and impactful to me. What was I volunteering to watch?  MORE

Racism Litmus Test: Caught on Video

Anti-Racism Activist & Educator, Jane Elliot, Speaks To White Citizens On Receiving The Same Treatment As Black Citizens

"I want every white person in this room, who would be happy to be treated as this society in general treats our citizens, our black citizens. If you as a white person would be happy to receive the same treatment that our black citizens do in this society - please stand!

"You didn't understand the directions. If you white folks want to be treated the way blacks are in this society - stand! - Nobody is standing here. That says very plainly that you KNOW what's happening. You KNOW you don't want it for YOU. I want to know why YOU are so willing to accept it or to ALLOW it to happen for others?" - Jane Elliot.
