Baton Rouge, LA – Shortly before 10:00 pm on February 21, 2016, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Airline Hwy. south of LA 73 in East Baton Rouge Parish. The crash took the life of 88 year old Jerome Foreman of Kenner, LA.
The initial investigation by State Police revealed that Foreman’s 2006 Honda Ridgeline was parked on the northbound shoulder of Airline Hwy. For unknown reasons, Foreman walked into northbound traffic from the median and was struck by several vehicles. Two of the vehicles were identified as a 2007 Honda Accord driven by 33 year old Nedra Price of Baton Rouge and a 2002 Hyundai Accent driven by 61 year old Mary Silkowski of St. Amant. Troopers also located evidence indicating that Foreman was possibly struck by a third vehicle that left the scene. Foreman sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash. A toxicology sample was taken from all parties involved for analysis. Based on the evidence located by Troopers, the third vehicle is believed to be a 2011-2013 Toyota Corolla with damage to the front bumper.
