Caddo Parish, La.--- Shreveport’s own Caddo Middle Career & Technology School (CMCTS) Lady Chargers, lead by Athletic Director, Dee Dee Williams-Elie and Coach Darryl Kimble, Coach Yolanda Mason-Jones, and the Chargers lead by Coach Cedric Thomas and Jimar Davis, both finished as 1st Runners’ up in the Multi State Championship Basketball Tournament held in Grambling La. January 28-30. This was the Chargers’ first appearance in the 11 year running tournament that is hosted by Shreveport's own Cedric Johnson. Johnson is a former Woodlawn Knight stand out prior to his collegiate career at University of Louisiana Monroe (formerly Northeast University) 1999-2004. "Coach Ced" has been sponsored by Adidas since 2011, and utilizes this platform to elevate awareness to our region. Tellulance Graham, and his dedicated faculty and staff were on hand Saturday when the Lady Chargers defeated 33-0 Lawtell from Alexandria, La., en route to the finals. The Lady Chargers met the Red River Lady Bulldogs in the finals. 8th grade point guard Janecia Kendrick, and 8th grade power forward McKaila Lewis, played key roles in the success of the Lady Chargers as they fell short of the mark in a 43-22 loss to the Lady Bulldogs. The Chargers also gave a great fight-to-the-finish--- before falling short at 38-24.
Center Christopher Moore and Shooting guard Jamone Young played key roles in the boys’ success. Lady Charger McKayla Lewis and Charger Jamone Young were named to the All-Tournament team.
