Ali to be mourned with traditional Muslim prayer service

Muslim prayers over the body of Muhammad Ali will be witnessed worldwide Thursday, offering a window into a religion many outsiders know little about, but have come to scorn.

About 14,000 people are expected Thursday in Louisville, Kentucky, for the service, which will be broadcast on TV and streamed live online. TROOP G NEWS RELEASE
June 6, 2016

DWI Checkpoint Planned for Webster Parish

In an effort to combat impaired driving in our area, Louisiana State Police Troop G plans to conduct a DWI checkpoint on Friday, June 10, 2016, from approximately 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location in Webster Parish. Our mission will be to find and remove impaired drivers from the road before they can cause injury or death to themselves or others.

Each year, on Louisiana’s highways, numerous people are killed or seriously injured in automobile crashes that involve impaired drivers. In 2015, 48% of the fatal crashes in Troop G involved impaired drivers. Motorists are asked to designate a sober driver before traveling to any place where alcohol will be consumed. Drive sober or get pulled over.

To report impaired drivers, motorists are encouraged to dial *LSP (*577) from their cellular phone or to contact their local law enforcement agency.
Support for this checkpoint is provided by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
