June 6, 2016 DWI Checkpoint Planned for Webster Parish In an effort to combat impaired driving in our area, Louisiana State Police Troop G plans to conduct a DWI checkpoint on Friday, June 10, 2016, from approximately 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location in Webster Parish. Our mission will be to find and remove impaired drivers from the road before they can cause injury or death to themselves or others. Each year, on Louisiana’s highways, numerous people are killed or seriously injured in automobile crashes that involve impaired drivers. In 2015, 48% of the fatal crashes in Troop G involved impaired drivers. Motorists are asked to designate a sober driver before traveling to any place where alcohol will be consumed. Drive sober or get pulled over. To report impaired drivers, motorists are encouraged to dial *LSP (*577) from their cellular phone or to contact their local law enforcement agency. Support for this checkpoint is provided by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission. Investigators later determined someone had deliberately set fire to her Mercedes and also tried to burn down the one-story brick house she shared with her mother in this eastern Louisiana town, once known as a hotbed of Ku Klux Klan activity. COMMENTARY: How to go Asian
Why do black people often resist alternative medicine? Even when it works.
We are off the plantation. There is a universe of information, research, anecdotal evidence, and empirical proof that Chinese Medicine has benefits, yet most of us immediately wince, “I ain’t doin’ that!”--- instead of considering the evidence, and blazing personal proofs, and investigations. Why do we choose to be stuck on “Lock” when it comes to something new?
Afrikans, and Original (Native) Americans also have medicinal practices which pre-date Western medicine by centuries. Yet we reject anything we don’t understand, immediately. Don’t we?

Anti-Racism Activist & Educator, Jane Elliot, Speaks To White Citizens On Receiving The Same Treatment As Black Citizens
Cosby to be tried on all charges
Judge has announced that Bill Cosby will be tried on all of the criminals charges that have been brought against him. They will now go to trial. "I want every white person in this room, who would be happy to be treated as this society in general treats our citizens, our black citizens. If you as a white person would be happy to receive the same treatment that our black citizens do in this society - please stand! "You didn't understand the directions. If you white folks want to be treated the way blacks are in this society - stand! - Nobody is standing here. That says very plainly that you KNOW what's happening. You KNOW you don't want it for YOU. I want to know why YOU are so willing to accept it or to ALLOW it to happen for others?" - Jane Elliot. |
